I begin the circumnavigation in Venice on the north tip of the Adriatic Sea, and make my way down the east coast of Italy until Bari, where I'll cross the Adriatic by ferry to Greece. Below is my planned route. Click here to read more about the countries on this route.

Below, you can see that Greece and the Ionian Sea borders Albania and the Adriatic Sea. After exploring the Pelopenese Penninsula, I'll head north on the west coast of Greece to Albania.

Albania is reputed to have spectacular coastline but rugged roads. It should take me three days and two nights to cross.

North of Albania is a small section of coast that belongs to Serbia Montenegro.

After Serbia Montenegro I arrive in Bosnia Herzegovina to ride about 50 km of coastline I reach the famed Croatian coastline, the Dalmatian Coast, at Dubvronik, the famous walled city. Look at all those islands!

A small piece of coast between Croatia and Italy belongs to Slovenia and then I am back in Italy, Trieste, and Venice before fighting through Milan traffic to get to lovely Lake Como once more.
