Sailing in Croatia stories: Bill & Judy: For anyone considering chartering in the Med., this is the place to do it. The boats are all new and very well maintained. Croatia has a coast line and islands that are a cruisers dream. One is never more than ten miles from a perfectly safe anchorage. In some bays that are too deep to anchor, buoys have been set for which there is a nominal charge. There are over 70 marinas plus every town has a quay most with water and power at every mooring. The mooring is med style which is stern or bow to, but almost everywhere there are laid lines so only occasionally does one need to use their anchor. Town quays don't generally have shower or toilet blocks but the facilities on the boat are fine. Plus many of the marinas are next door to the town quay and you can sneak over and use their showers. We have never been anywhere in the Med where it is so easy as here. In fact this will spoil us for Greece where there are only about 6 completed and functioning marinas in the whole country."
