Olympus C-3030 Zoom: In 2000 Olympus came out with a megapixel dream machine, the C2000 Zoom, which has since been outfeatured by the C-3030 Zoom that takes a couple of minutes of MPEG video as well. I highly recommend this camera. It's light, its filled with features. It's easy to use. The C-2000 took the fabulous photos in my dispatches since 2000. People also love the Nikon CoolPix, and the photos that Mark Bava took for my Burning Man 2002 Report were taken with it. For more about digital cameras and recommendations (from an article I wrote in 2000) click on the link below. Megapixel Mania is a dated but still valid buyer's guide for digital still cameras that reviews the best price-performers in different categories: the $999.00 Olympus C-3030 dream machine mentioned above, the tiny Canon Powershot, the PalmPix that turns your Palm handheld computer into a digital camera, a kid's camera for under $100, the ruggedized Kodak DC5000 Zoom for adventure travel, and more.
