Day 23 (January 30, 2000)
Today I've been locked up in my room with the newspaper, some children's books on Hindu and Muslim mythology, and on kolam designs. I've snapped a lot of photos of these books and of pictures from the motorcycle manual and maps to include in future dispatches. It's Sunday, and outside my window the loudspeaker is blaring with Indian music. Walking to the Internet shop I had to cover my ears three times in one block as I walked under the loudspeakers. I guess they're immune to noise here. The music almost covers the sounds of horns blaring! The map above shows my next trip from Madurai to Cape Cormorin, the tip end of India.
