Day
56 (March 3, 2000)
BANGALORE TO
TIRUPATHI
It's been an
exhausting but rewarding day spent with the NDTV film crew who followed
us from Bangalore four hours of the trip to Tirupati for the BBC
World show on Information Technology. I rode behind the press vehicle
for most of the way while a cameraman filmed, beckoning me forward,
to this side and that, and to stop here and there, sip a coconut,
have a thali lunch on a banana leaf, and to sit on a rock by the
road for a formal interview, then take two, then take three. Some
of it was pretty funny but I have to admit that I'm not quite comfortable
being on the other end of the camera. I suppose turnabout is fair
play, and I'll send a posting to the mailing list (sign up in CONTACT)
when I know the details of the show.
